You will be part of a team delivering the Early Years Statutory Requirements as set out by the Department forEducation, Sport and Culture (in compliance with the Day Care of Children (Jersey) Law 2002) and using the Early Years Matters, Quality Framework for guidance.
Being passionate about childcare, good communication skills, team working, good understanding of safety and hygiene, respectful towards children, families and colleagues. Tune into children’s needs and respond using age and stage appropriate language.
Ideally you will hold a child care qualification to level 2 such as NVQ/CCLD Level 2 in Early Years, City and Guilds 0-7 Years, Certificate in Child Care Education, Certificate in Pre-School Practice, Introduction to working with children or the Developing skills. You must be willing to gain further child care qualifications should you not hold a level 2 qualification.
You will hold, or be prepared to gain, the following qualifications/training to meet registration requirements.
You will hold, or be prepared to gain, the following qualifications/training to meet registration requirements, St Johns Ambulance First Aid for Children, 6 hour Foundation Safeguarding & annual update, Food Hygiene level 2 & update, Sign up to the DBS update system. Additional in-house training during induction and ongoing.
